Task based Fee Structure instead of an hourly rate
- At Redlands Injury Law, our fees are charged on a 'task based' scale. This means that you pay for the actual tasks performed and not the number of hours spent on the task.
Fee Cap Protection
- By Law, we can only charge for the work we perform in accordance with our Cost Agreement. If, however, the total fees exceed a stipulated threshold ('fee cap') then our fees must be reduced to that fee cap.
- Under section 347 of the Legal Profession Act (Qld) firms offering 'no-win, no-fee' services must restrict their maximum fee to 50% of the 'Net Settlement Amount'.
- Our firm applies a fee cap, typically between 30% and 40% depending on the complexity of the matter. The fee cap that applies to your matter will be set out in our Costs Agreement.
- If the work we have done is less than the fee cap amount, then we only charge for the work performed
